SUMMARY:Fayetteville's Witches & Warlocks Paddle Fayette Station
DESCRIPTION:Gather with us for a Witches and Warlocks Stand Up Paddle on the New River on Sunday\, October 26th. We will be meeting at the upper Fayette Station Parking lot and beach area. Attendees need to sign a waiver and register in advance. Registration will open October 2 pending NPS permit approval. Attendees must know how to swim\, and wear PFDs. This event is not designed for first time paddlers. Paddlers must be confident in maneuvering boards with the risks associated with the river.We will launch at the upper beach at Fayette Station wearing PFDs paddling approximately 500 yards up stream on the flat water back to the beach. This is a leisure paddle but keep in mind that the current of the river can be challenging for beginners.This is a limited ticket event capped at a maximum of 80 participants to meet the requirements of our permit. If you reserve a spot and can’t attend\, please let us know so we can open the spots to give others a chance to join in the fun. This also allows us to have space for vehicle parking and allows for ease of launch and exit from the river. You must pre-register to attend and fill out a waiver. We encourage participants to carpool or utilize the upper overflow parking area at Fayette Station. We ask that participants pull into the upper beach parking lot to unload boards and then move vehicles to the upper overflow lot to allow more folks to get in and set up on their boards so we can fit everyone in. If water levels are too high on the river\, we will decide before the event if we need to relocate or cancel. For board rentals reach out to Mountain Surf Paddle Sports.

DESCRIPTION:It’s time for the Fall Ball in the New River Gorge! Join us this October 25th for a Square Dance at The Outpost.\nNo experience is necessary and families with kids are welcome! We’ll host a beginners lesson at 6:30\, followed by the dance from 7:00-9:00.\nWe’re lucky enough to have the Mill Creek String Band and Friends bringing the tunes. And our friendly Fayetteville caller Katey Lauer will be on the mic.\nFrom 6:00-10:00\, The Outpost will be serving up local craft brews\, cocktails\, wine and seltzers along with pizza\, chicken tenders\, mozzarella sticks\, fries\, nachos\, pretzel bites\, chips and ice cream!\nWe’re asking folks to bring a $10 cash donation to put some meal money in the band’s pockets.
