The Gorge’s newest hangout spot
March 10, 2016A Gorge favorite just got a whole lot cooler.
Popular Fayetteville eatery Secret Sandwich Society has been charming taste buds since 2010. Their creative menu items borrow names from U.S. presidents, former first ladies and secret service code names, and include as many local ingredients as possible. The beer list sure is something to marvel at, too– full of local and national favorites. And now, the good times are rolling upstairs.
In September, the restaurant opened up its second floor to patrons in search of fabulous brews and even better art. From acoustic artists to DJs, and poetry readings to art showings, The Grove is the perfect hangout for anyone looking to unwind or enjoy some local talent.
During the winter months, most Friday or Saturday nights feature a musical act, and every other
Wednesday, The Grove hosts Poetry, Prose and Plainsong. Just check out their Facebook, Instagram or Twitter for a schedule and details.
The Grove has already had a slew of admired musicians perform, hosted a Halloween Party, and co-hosted a New Year’s Eve bash in conjunction with the restaurant. And the fun is just getting started.
The taps flow upstairs from noon to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays and starting at 1 p.m. on
Sundays. The Grove tries to schedule musical entertainment between 7 and 10 p.m. so all ages can enjoy.
During the summer months, hours will be extended and the upstairs space will mostly become a waiting area for the busy restaurant– a place where folks can enjoy a cold beer on a comfy couch while waiting for a table.
You can get light appetizers at The Grove, but full menu dining service is still only in the restaurant, so be sure to enjoy a delicious McKinley, Eisenhower or Hoover sandwich before making your way upstairs to enjoy the entertainment.
