And you’re in luck: we have both of those things readily available. The New River Gorge is a magical place to ride a horse. Even if (especially if?) you’re no expert, there’s plenty of opportunity to get out on the trail with some of the best guides in the business.

Horseback riding is an excellent way to have fun with friends or family, see the beautiful West Virginia landscape, and make great memories. We cater to the beginner and intermediate rider. What we offer: Ride Times (a total of 2.5 hours of activity including completion of paperwork, safety meeting, mount up, ride and dismount) 9:00 am - $89.00 12:00 pm - $89.00 3:00 pm - $89.00 Sunset - $99.00 Pony Rides (based on guide availability) 15 minutes/ride $15.00 Scout Merit Badges $99.00 (call for details) **Another available option for people who want to ride horses but are unable secondary to weight restrictions: Do you exceed the weight limit? No problem! For the same amount as a horseback ride you can still enjoy your day with family or friends. We offer a guided side-by-side utility vehicle ride (children under 8 when accompanied by an adult are welcomed) to the top of the mountain where you can enjoy the scenery while waiting for your party to arrive on horseback. Once your party has reached you, you will enjoy your guided ride down the mountain where you will wait for your rider’s arrival back to their beginning destination. HORSEBACK RIDING FAQS **All riders must be able to follow instructions and handle their horse on their own. Q. What should I wear for horseback riding? A. We recommend riders wear long pants, closed toed shoes, sunblock and dress according to the weather. Dependent upon the weather, you may need a raincoat. We ride rain or shine. Q. What can I bring on my ride? A. A water bottle and a camera, preferably with a strap (at your own risk). Q. Can small children go horseback riding? A. Riders must be 8+ years old, no experience required. Riding double is NOT allowed. If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to call us at 304-860-0596. Q. Do I need experience? A. We work very hard to maintain trails and promote a fun ride for all customers. Experience is not required; however, you do need to be able to follow simple instructions offered by your guide. Please be aware that you will be riding a horse and accidents can happen just like with any other activity. Q. When do I need to check in for my ride? A. Please check in at our stable located at 1449 Clifftop Rd., Lookout, West Virginia 15 minutes before the start of your ride. After check-in, we will provide the required safety meeting and take the time to answer your questions…. then we will mount up! Q. Do you have a weight limit? A. Yes, we do have a weight limit of 225 lbs. ALL riders must be physically able to get on and off the horse with little or no assistance. If you have questions, please call us, 304-860-0596

You will experience real trail riding on Pre-Civil War roads, up hill, down hill, creek crossings, flocks of turkeys, deer, occasional bears, and scenic mountain top views.
