The New River Gorge Rim to Rim Race will be a running road race from one side of the New River Gorge to the other. This bucket list event will provide runners with breathtaking views throughout the course in the adventure sports capital of West Virginia, Fayetteville. Hosted by Adventures on the Gorge, racers will have access to resort amenities and finish at the rim side pool with a catered brunch.
The course will begin on the south side of Fayette Station Road and finish at Adventures on the Gorge. Racers should prepare for a decent of 1300 ft and a climb of 1300 ft with the steepest point being a 20% incline. The finish line will bring racers to the rim of the gorge with an overlook photo opportunity. Racers are welcome to walk the course but must maintain a 20 minute mile pace to complete the event during the allotted closed road timeframe.
About the area
The New River Gorge area encompasses 4 counties full of recreational opportunity. This event will take place close to the town of Fayetteville, WV. The area’s premier adventure resort, Adventures on the Gorge, has lodging options, restaurants, and a variety of guided outdoor activities.
Race rules and regulations
Every racer will be required to sign a release of liability, must follow race rules and regulations, and adhere to race course route. There are no refunds for cancelations. If you are unable to attend the race, you can transfer your registration to someone else.

Race day itinerary
Racers need to checking in at 7am. More detailed times will be established based on registration numbers.
Proceeds benefit Active Southern West Virginia which offers free physical activity programs within communities, elementary schools, local government, and workplaces in Nicholas, Fayette, Raleigh, and Summers counties.
