Ramsey Mountain Lodge
The Ramsey Mountain Lodge is a luxury 3,000 square foot, 4 bedroom, 3 bath ranch with a finished basement that was built in 1955 and completely remodeled in 2012-13. The exterior is a combination of cut sandstone from an old coal company store, river rock from the New River Gorge plus many unique fossils, mill stone pieces and even stones from the ruins of a Welsh abbey that were given to the original owner during World War II. Large covered porches with Adirondack chairs and porch swings offer a perfect place to relax in the shade and enjoy the wildlife and scenery on the surrounding 25 acres. The 3 acre yard surrounding the house contains a vineyard of wine and table grapes, an orchard and berry patch. Guests are welcome to pick the ripe fruit in season for their own use during their stay. A large stone fire ring with curved stone sitting walls is available in the yard for campfires. Inside the house, amenities include hardwood and tile floors, real wood paneling, granite countertops, fully equipped kitchen, dining area with stone fireplace that seats 10, living room with stone fireplace, a large basement family room with a pool table and a laundry room. DirecTV with premium movie and sports channels and wifi are available during your stay. The first floor master bedroom has a king size bed and full bath. Two other bedrooms, each with twin beds, are also located on the first floor and share a second full bath. The basement holds a fourth bedroom with four bunk beds and a third full bath. A futon in the basement family room converts to a double size bed and a queen size convertible couch in the upstairs living room completes the sleeping arrangements. All linens and towels are provided during your stay plus a starter supply of soap and paper products.
