Develop new skills with women-only rock climbing clinics and workshops on America’s best sandstone!
Here’s where ladies can scale the rocks:

1. Chicks Rock!

Climbing in the New River GorgeChicks Climbing & Skiing emphasizes female empowerment and quality instruction on rocks and ice. Only the best climbing destinations attract their attention, and every summer, the New River Gorge is one of them!
Join Chicks Rock for 2 days and nights of climbing, camping and camaraderie. Learn about the sport or pick up new skills in small classes. Each one is captained by American Mountain Guides Association-certified coaches.
You’ll also get breakfast and dinner, plus gift bags and gear on loan.

2. NRG Crush Women’s Climbing Weekend

Fill your weekend with supportive instruction and informal camping at this springtime event!
Pitch your tent at the American Alpine Club Campground minutes away from famed sandstone peaks. Learn the ropes (literally) at NRG Crush’s mini or full climbing workshops. You’ll even have a chance to scale the rocks at Summersville Lake, the “Little Bahamas of the East.”
Try some of the more popular activities, like the gear swap, yoga, first aid and rescue clinics. You’ll also get to hang out with new friends at a potluck. On the last day, wrap things up with breakfast and a final climb.

3. Craggin’ Classic: Crack Climbing for Women clinic

Sign up for a ladies-only workshop at one of America’s best climbing festivals!
Sharpen your skills with Jessa Goebel, a Fayetteville resident and athlete with more than 15 years of experience, during her Women’s Crack Climbing clinic Sept. 15.
You’ll probably want to hang around for the rest of Craggin’ Classic, an extravaganza that tours the country’s best climbing attractions. Join ‘em in the Gorge on Sept. 14-16 for workshops, presentations by professional climbers, a pig roast, live music, camping and tasty meals.

4. New River Mountain Guides

Ladies are more than welcome to join this outfitter for women’s climbing courses.
New River Mountain Guides only hires instructors who are encouraging, great teachers, and you’ll get one of the best: Elaina Arenz, company owner and co-founder of Chicks Climbing & Skiing! Elaina is a pioneer in the industry with more than 20 years of experience, and she’s earned worldwide recognition for her skills and advocacy.
