Here’s where ladies can scale the rocks:
1. Chicks Rock!
Chicks Climbing & Skiing emphasizes female empowerment and quality instruction on rocks and ice. Only the best climbing destinations attract their attention, and every summer, the New River Gorge is one of them!
Join Chicks Rock for 2 days and nights of climbing, camping and camaraderie. Learn about the sport or pick up new skills in small classes. Each one is captained by American Mountain Guides Association-certified coaches.
You’ll also get breakfast and dinner, plus gift bags and gear on loan.
2. NRG Crush Women’s Climbing Weekend
Fill your weekend with supportive instruction and informal camping at this springtime event!
Pitch your tent at the American Alpine Club Campground minutes away from famed sandstone peaks. Learn the ropes (literally) at NRG Crush’s mini or full climbing workshops. You’ll even have a chance to scale the rocks at Summersville Lake, the “Little Bahamas of the East.”
Try some of the more popular activities, like the gear swap, yoga, first aid and rescue clinics. You’ll also get to hang out with new friends at a potluck. On the last day, wrap things up with breakfast and a final climb.
3. Craggin’ Classic: Crack Climbing for Women clinic
Sign up for a ladies-only workshop at one of America’s best climbing festivals!
Sharpen your skills with Jessa Goebel, a Fayetteville resident and athlete with more than 15 years of experience, during her Women’s Crack Climbing clinic Sept. 15.
