DESCRIPTION:This event has been cancelled.  Please check back for information about the 2021 race!\nThe New River Gorge Rim to Rim Race will be a running road race from one side of the New River Gorge to the other. This bucket list event will provide runners with breathtaking views throughout the course in the adventure sports capital of West Virginia\, Fayetteville. Hosted by Adventures on the Gorge\, racers will have access to resort amenities and finish at the rim side pool with a catered brunch. \nThe course will begin on the south side of Fayette Station Road and finish at Adventures on the Gorge. Racers should prepare for a decent of 1300 ft and a climb of 1300 ft with the steepest point being a 20% incline. The finish line will bring racers to the rim of the gorge with an overlook photo opportunity. Racers are welcome to walk the course but must maintain a 20 minute mile pace to complete the event during the allotted closed road timeframe. \nAbout the area\nThe New River Gorge area encompasses 4 counties full of recreational opportunity. This event will take place close to the town of Fayetteville\, WV. The area’s premier adventure resort\, Adventures on the Gorge\, has lodging options\, restaurants\, and a variety of guided outdoor activities. \nRace rules and regulations\nEvery racer will be required to sign a release of liability\, must follow race rules and regulations\, and adhere to race course route. There are no refunds for cancelations. DESCRIPTION:Our Spring run at Babcock\, the Gristmill Grinder has become such a favorite we decided that it was time to introduce a Fall run- the Sticks and Stones 15K! This course too is already a classic. Starting at the historic Camp Washington Carver runners will run into the park and along the rim of the Mann’s Creek Gorge before dropping down into the deep canyon. We have added another 2.2 miles of trail to the big loop from the Grinder course and have taken away a mile of road. This leaves you with 9 miles of trail that is so spectacular\, it may leave you breathless. Enjoy the beautiful fall colors\, rhododendron tunnels\, waterfalls\, cliffs\, bridges and always amazing scenery. The only road section on this course is as you run up to the famous Gristmill and then turn left toward Skyline and the Finish. \nSo\, what are you waiting for?
