As you stroll through town be on the lookout for hidden treats and Wonka inspired surprises through town. You may even catch a glimpse of Willy Wonka himself. The Wonka Walk also falls on the Fayette Songwriters Festival Weekend with talented songwriters from all over. \nWhen: Saturday\, February 15\, from 11 am to 4 pm. \nTickets: We strongly encourage that you buy tickets in advance; we will sell out. You can purchase tickets in advance at the Fayetteville Convention & Visitors Bureau in bundles of 5 tickets for $5. Tickets go on sale January 13th. You can also purchase tickets online. If you purchase tickets online your first stop must be the Fayetteville Convention & Visitors Bureau to exchange your printed ticket for individual packets on the day of the Wonka Walk. 310 North Court St.\nSee Visit Fayetteville for more information. \nHow it works: Stop by the visitor center for maps and information.  There will be sweet treat stops at participating businesses through town. DESCRIPTION:This event has been cancelled.  Please check back for information about the 2021 race!\nThe New River Gorge Rim to Rim Race will be a running road race from one side of the New River Gorge to the other. This bucket list event will provide runners with breathtaking views throughout the course in the adventure sports capital of West Virginia\, Fayetteville. Hosted by Adventures on the Gorge\, racers will have access to resort amenities and finish at the rim side pool with a catered brunch. \nThe course will begin on the south side of Fayette Station Road and finish at Adventures on the Gorge. Racers should prepare for a decent of 1300 ft and a climb of 1300 ft with the steepest point being a 20% incline. The finish line will bring racers to the rim of the gorge with an overlook photo opportunity. Racers are welcome to walk the course but must maintain a 20 minute mile pace to complete the event during the allotted closed road timeframe. \nAbout the area\nThe New River Gorge area encompasses 4 counties full of recreational opportunity. This event will take place close to the town of Fayetteville\, WV. The area’s premier adventure resort\, Adventures on the Gorge\, has lodging options\, restaurants\, and a variety of guided outdoor activities. \nRace rules and regulations\nEvery racer will be required to sign a release of liability\, must follow race rules and regulations\, and adhere to race course route. There are no refunds for cancelations.
