Around the age of 35 we begin to slowly lose bone density\, muscle mass\, co-ordination\, brain function\, and lung volume. There is a wealth of new scientific research that demonstrates how yoga is uniquely suited to slow and even reverse this process. For instance\, Dr. Loren Fishman has published research on how yoga can increase bone density. The research show that certain practices can make you functionally younger. The earlier you begin these practices the more reserve you will have as you age. The good news\, which research supports\, is that it is never too late to begin to “buy back functional years” using these practices (Attia\, 2023).\nFor students and teachers of all ages. Format is lecture with slide show\, 60 minute asana\, yoga nidra\, & savasana. Asana will include modifications for all levels. Ending with discussion and Q&A.\n12 CEUs through Yoga Alliance. SUMMARY:New River Gorge Rim to Rim Race 2024
DESCRIPTION:The New River Gorge Rim to Rim Race is a 6-mile running road race from one side of the New River Gorge to the other. This bucket list event will provide runners with breathtaking views throughout the course in Fayetteville\, the adventure sports capital of West Virginia. Hosted by Adventures on the Gorge\, racers will have access to resort amenities and finish at the rim-side pool with a catered brunch.\nThe course will begin on the south side of the New River Gorge on Fayette Station Road – Route 82 and will follow Burma Road and Ames Heights Road. This is a point to point race. Racers will check in at the finish line and be provided a bus ride to the start line. Racers should prepare for a descent of 1\,300 feet and a climb of 1\,300 feet with the steepest point being a 20% incline. The finish line will bring racers to the rim of the gorge with an overlook photo opportunity. Racers are welcome to walk the course but must maintain a 20-minute mile pace to complete the event during the allotted closed road time frame.
